About The Event
"Dying is an art, like everything else." Sylvia Plath
Thoughts of death, loss and grief can be challenging. How do we work with a client's grief? How do we manage our own grief in this process? What does a dying client bring to the work? Death can touch on our most primitive defenses.
In this creative weekend you will have the opportunity to safely explore this important aspect of living, reflecting both on client work and on your own feelings and experiences.
Day 1: A workshop focused day, underpinned with up-to-date bereavement theory & concepts. You will be offered practical tools and be guided through creative exercises to expand your thinking around losses in thewidest sense and what that brings to the therapy room.
Day 2: A reflective day with space to play, create and experiment - using the grounds, gardens and pottingshed of Lea Green. Drawing on some aspects of Day 1 this will be a time for a deeper investigation of your experiences and feelings on loss and grief, using creativity and group processes.
Both days are 'stand alone' events (which can be booked separately) but will tie together beautifully for those able to attend the whole weekend, £30 discount for weekend tickets.
Price includes lunch, refreshments and CPD certificate.
As always Potting Shed events are facilitated by Bethan Baëz-Devine & Sharon Herriot experienced Art Psychotherapists and passionate trainers who will provide you with a safe, nurturing and containing space.
