Introducing the Believe Project
Our [Believe - Motherwell Cheshire CIO] Believe Project supports mums at risk of child removal. This project has been running for the last 5 years. I developed the project after working in the homeless sector as a support worker and counsellor for many years. I came to the realisation that there was very little support for a mum who was at risk of having their child removed from their care.
We are in the final few months of an academic evaluation which has been carried out by Chester University which is showing a positive impact. For the past 3 years we have been working with Chester University who have been interviewing particpants who have been supported by us, using the bespoke toolkit that I have developed. From speaking to the university the evaluation will be positive and we look forward to reading and promoting the full report.

Over the years I have been asked when we will be delivering the Believe Project in different areas in the North West. I would love to offer our services in all areas but we are realistic in what we can achieve as a charity.
Therefore I have developed the Believe Ambassador Training Programme. This gives support workers, counsellors and intervention workers from all over the country and oversees, the chance to be trained on our Evidenced Based Toolkit to support mums at risk of child removal.
The Believe Ambassador two-day training course provides a comprehensive introduction to a programme that will enable you to work with mums and pregnant women whose child/children have been placed on a Child Protection Plan.
Delegates will be provided with all the information and materials/resources they will need to run the programme, including a manual containing guidance for facilitators, handouts, toolkit and resources.
You will also receive:
- Online access to all our Believe resources with your own unique login
- Support from our Believe team for the first 3 months after receiving the training
- Your own extensive workbook/ toolkit that contains everything you need to support mums
- Certificate and Believe Ambassador logo
- Press release template
- You will also be added to our website directory as a Believe Ambassador .
Our next training takes place on 11th and 12th July and will be offered online.
If you are an individual interested in this training we are able to offer payment plans.
